“The sins of some men are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden.” 1 Timothy 5:24-25
This short and sweet little passage says a lot.
In part, it’s a reminder that our sins will be found out. Whether they arrive in the place of judgment ahead of us, or trail behind us. I’m not exactly sure what Paul is saying here, but the implication is certainly that all of our sin will eventually be known.
But the reverse is also true! All of our good deeds will also be known! Even the good we do that’s not so obvious, cannot be hidden. God will know.
So taken together, the sins of men will be known, and the good deeds of men will be known. The question is, which will you be known for?
