The Lord invites us as believers to partake of His word each day and intercede for others in prayer and follow the direction of His encouraging Holy Spirit. As we love others and share our faith and concern, we show what is truly important. Perhaps I might share a song some Sunday with that intent.

Blessings,

Bill the SingerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991690653172679612.post-37422830665958678082009-05-26T11:08:10.285-05:002009-05-26T11:08:10.285-05:00Agreed - we need the community of believers and to...Agreed - we need the community of believers and to be with them. There are so many things that we can gain from being with a community. Most importantly to me is the sense that we are in this together. Often times in life I have felt like I am going it alone. Being with fellow believers reminds us that there are others facing challenges as well and that our God is so powerful that He can be there for us. Another reason that community is so important is that it provides accountability. God does hold us accountable but when we see others and spend time with others that accountability becomes tangible.
Too often we are faced with choices or other opportunities in life that keep us from joining together in communion with fellow believers. I know that personally and have shared with some of my friends their "reasons" behind not currently attending. We must remember what God has called us to do. Not that we are condemned or lose any of our heavenly rewards if we don't gather together, but we are losing out.
Thanks for a great reminder that we are called to join together as a community of believers!!! See you in church on Sunday!!!

MichelleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991690653172679612.post-7265937241385516802009-05-15T00:09:00.000-05:002009-05-15T00:09:00.000-05:00Thanks for the post. BFST is both extremely useful and very complex to grasp, as it is quite often completely counterintuitive. I would add a comment on your last statement. When one is clear about what one think about important matters, not only is it useful to take a stand ("this is what I believe"), it is also very important to remain connected with significant people in the system afterwards. Almost anyone can take a stand on important matters, yet being able to engage with others, especially those who disagree with us, is at least as important. When one can keep focused on the message, without justifying oneself, without attacking others (being reactive), then this theory says that this is what really makes the difference for the whole system. I can testify firsthand that this is quite challenging, but to the extent one can keep focusing on onelself (rather than trying to change others) while being aware of the need to be still engaged with others, there is a chance that things will start changing, even in a seemingly stuck situation. There is so much good stuff to gain from this theory. There is a lot of great stuff available on this (The Alban Institute, books by Edwin Friedman such as Generation to Generation, by Peter Steinke, by Murray Bowen and Michael Kerr of course, the Western Pennsylvania Family Center has a good distance learning program as well)
Vincent Randy, Paris, FranceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991690653172679612.post-62898450450286645762008-04-12T09:19:00.000-05:002008-04-12T09:19:00.000-05:00Lynn, I don't know if I can help or not, email at...Lynn, I don't know if I can help or not, email at sdygert (at) stny.rr.com and let me know what you need.
